Paul Volcker, former Fed chief and current head of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board for the Obama Administration, has words of wisdom that are falling on deaf ears. We posted regarding this matter a month ago, but the article in the NY Times provides additional color. Volcker suggests that regulation alone will not prevent recurring problems down the line. I have to agree with him.
